The Friday Brief for July 24, 2026: M&A Activity Heating Up

New partnerships are also being announced at a rapid pace in the areas of drug development and manufacturing.

Editor’s Take: Companies continue to announce their M&A intentions as the summer moves along.

This week on “The Friday Brief” … Acquisitions top our headlines, with Natoli Engineering completing its purchase of Scheu & Kniss. Tempus AI reached agreement to acquire Personalis, while Samsung Biologics launched an all-cash offer to buy global CDMO PolyPeptide Group.

Also, the U.S. FDA approved Jideytro (zidesamtinib) for treatment of adults with certain types of non-small cell lung cancer. GSK gained zidesamtinib in its recently completed acquisition of Nuvalent.

Elsewhere in partnerships, Bayer is testing its Xofigo in combination with Kairos Pharma’s lead antibody, ENV-105. This is for treatment of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. BMS will deploy an NVIDIA DGX SuperPod to help its teams unlock computational power and efficiency in AI workloads.

Lonza and Engitix are joining up to advance ADC development in chronic disease. Thermo Fisher has been selected by ImmuPharma as the CDMO to support its Kapiglucagon program. And Halozyme and Incyte say they will collaborate on subcutaneous monoclonal antibody formulations.

Globally, Forge Biologics is launching an AAV development and cGMP manufacturing partnership with Restore Vision, based in Japan. Also in Japan, BostonGene is expanding a previously announced strategic partnership with Kyoto University.

One more—PolyPid and Azurity Pharmaceuticals are getting together to commercialize a preventative measure for surgical site infections.
